At Dental Health & Wellness Boston, our focus means not only do we provide care for patients with an eye on their whole-body health but we also encourage our patients to minimize their environmental impact in their everyday lives! By trying these simple tips, we can all work to leave a smaller footprint on the planet!
1.Conserve water. By turning off the tap while brushing your teeth or shaving, a person can save more than 200 gallons of water per month! On average, a single person can use over 100 gallons of water in a single day so while such changes may seem minor, they make a huge impact!
2.Try new products that are better for the environment. Prabhupada brand toothpaste from allVeggie of Sweden recently adopted a biodegradable toothpaste tube by FKuR!
3.Support businesses that promote green practices. AVEDA’s products are made from a variety of natural and organic ingredients and the company maintains responsible packing practices through the use of post-consumer recycled materials. AVEDA is also a charitable partner for organizations like Earth Fund and Earth Month Partners.
We Practice What We Preach
At Dental Health & Wellness Boston we practice water conservation, energy conservation through the use of digital radiography, digital record keeping to reduce paper consumption, responsible recycling and the use of non-invasive laser dentistry to keep our office environmentally friendly!
1.Our modern office includes a water system that safely and effectively distributes and filters all of our water to minimize our consumption each and every day.
2.Our switch to digital radiography benefits both our patients, exposing them to 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays, and the environment, using less energy and eliminating worrisome materials including toxic film developers and lead foils.
3.While going “paperless” is still a new concept for many offices, Dental Health and Wellness Boston is reducing its paper/chart usage. We consciously recycle whenever possible and offer online billing and online appointment forms to further minimize paper waste.
4.We advocate for mercury-free dentistry and do not use mercury-based fillings for our patients. When removing old amalgam (silver-colored metal alloy) fillings, our amalgam separator drastically decreases the amount of amalgam in the wastewater leaving our office.
At Dental Health & Wellness Boston, it is our mission to continually inform our patients about improving their lives, improving the environment and celebrating overall well-being.
